Open media in the Tesla browser while the car is in Park. Tap Plex to load the Plex login — Tesla’s current software opens app.plex.tv in a chromeless full-screen Theater window. Bookmark this page in the car for one-tap access. Last updated 2026-09-19.
How to use Plex in the car
- Shift to Park. Video only plays when parked.
- Open the Tesla browser and go to wattsup.news/apps. Star it in Favourites.
- Tap the Plex tile. Sign in if Plex asks (email, Google, or QR from your phone).
- Play a title. It should fill the display and use the car speakers.
If it does not go full screen
Opens Plex’s desktop web app. If you are not signed in, Plex shows its login (email, Google, or QR). On 2026 Tesla software, app.plex.tv launches in the same chromeless window Theater uses for YouTube and Netflix. If you still see the address bar, update vehicle software, or tap the tile again from this page (do not type plex.tv into a new tab). Video is blocked while driving.
