Accepted Answer

The $250 deposit is only refundable in Quebec. Orders are not transferable however if you do visit a Tesla location staff may be able to do this in person with both parties present in person.

How do I get the Tesla referral discount in Canada?

Accepted Answer

The Tesla referral program applies when you start the order from a referral link. There is no referral code box — the Tesla referral code is the URL. Use the Canada Tesla referral (https://www.tesla.com/en_ca/referral/john55351) or the US Tesla referral (https://www.tesla.com/referral/john55351). The $250 order deposit is paid to Tesla, not to this site.

The current Tesla referral program perk in Canada and the US is 3 months of free Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Confirm the offer on the Tesla order page when you use a Tesla referral — Tesla changes these promotions.

I want to place an order but how long will I need to wait?

Tesla provides an upfront estimate once you enter your postal code on the order page. Accepted Answer

How does EVAP get applied?

Accepted Answer

EVAP discounty is applied after TAX closer to point of sale. You will not see the EVAP discount at checkout and the $5000 discount applies for any order delivered in 2026. The EVAP discount will go down to $4000 in 2027.

Is the Tesla Model Y Standard available in Canada?

Yes. The Tesla Model Y Standard is now available in Canada. EVAP is available on the Standard Y trim,  and Tesla is currently offering 5.31% APR financing.

What is the price difference between Model Y Standard and Premium in Canada?

The Model Y Standard (RWD) starts at $49,990 CAD MSRP. The Model Y Premium (Long Range AWD) starts at $64,990 CAD — approximately $15,000 more, before fees and taxes. Canada is still waiting for the RWD Premium varient

As of the latest information: Quebec offers $2,000 off after tax. Manitoba, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island currently show no rebates available.

Choose the Standard for best value and efficiency. Choose the Premium for AWD traction, more range in cold weather, more comfort features, and stronger performance — especially useful in winters.

Yes. Tesla is currently offering all paint selections for the Model Y Standard at no extra charge. Confirm on the order page before you submit the deposit.

Tesla is currently offering 5.31% APR financing for all models. Use the loan calculator for a payment estimate including provincial tax, delivery fees, and discounts.

I placed an order but can't take delivery at this time, can I delay the order?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can request a delay by messaging a Tesla rep. If a car has been assigned you will head back in the line which will delay your reserved vehicle. Tesla may allow you to do this a maximium of one time.

When do I apply for Financing

Accepted Answer

Financing applications expire after 60 days. It's best to apply closer to delivery to avoid hacing to re-submit application. In addition APR rates might change, you are only locked in for 60 days. If rates go lower you can request the lower rate.

Can I shop for better financing options?

You are free to shop around for your own loan, just choose the cash option instead of using Tesla financing.

This depends on your financial situation and what the offering bank decides. Use our calculator to determine the difference in monthly payments.

Can I use my credit card to make a down payment?

Accepted Answer

No, the $250 reservation fee is the only transaction you can make with a credit card. This deposit is deducted from your final cost.

If I make a configuration change to my order  will my vehicle be delayed?

Accepted Answer

If a VIN is already assigned, YES. If no VIN was assigned you can still requeste your desired configuration and not change your place in line.

How does the Tesla trade-in process work?

1. Submit photos of your vehicle Tesla’s trade-in page (https://www.tesla.com/en_ca/tradein)

You’ll be asked to provide six photos:
• Front exterior
• Rear exterior
• Left exterior
• Right exterior
• Interior, looking in from the driver’s side
• Interior, looking in from the passenger’s side

2. Review your estimate

You can typically expect an estimate within 48–72 hours, which you can then choose to accept.

Estimates are generally valid for 30 calendar days, and your trade-in value can be applied toward your down payment.

Trade-in values fluctuate. 
Avoid resubmitting the same VIN more than once every 90 days unless advised by Tesla.

3. Prepare for delivery day

Bring your trade-in vehicle to the pickup center.

Before handing it over:
• Bring all keys.
• Remove all personal belongings.
• Keep your license plates.
• Skip the deep clean - there’s no need to detail the vehicle.
